Weddings at Midtown Loft & Terrace

Home Venues Midtown Loft and Terrace

The elevator doors open on the 11th floor, and before you’ve even stepped out, you get it. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame Fifth Avenue below. The Empire State Building anchors the skyline. Oak floors stretch out under 12-foot ceilings. After hundreds of Manhattan weddings, I can usually tell within thirty seconds whether a venue has the right bones. Midtown Loft & Terrace has them.

My first setup here, I stood in the Loft just taking it in—that effortless energy some spaces have. High ceilings, natural light flooding in, a downtown aesthetic that doesn’t scream for attention. The space works with you rather than against you. Couples save money and stress when they’re not fighting to transform a room into something it’s not. (Sounds counterintuitive, but the best venues need the least help.)
Rooftop ceremonies on the Terrace with the Marble Collegiate Church as your backdrop. Then downstairs to the Loft where the dance floor stays packed until the last song. Ceremony, cocktail hour, reception—all in one building, in Manhattan. No shuttling guests across the city. No transportation logistics. Your people, your celebration, one of the best views in Midtown.

Why Midtown Loft & Terrace Makes Sense for Your Wedding

Venue decisions usually come down to a handful of practical factors once the initial excitement fades. Here’s what actually sets this place apart.

The Location Is Basically Perfect

Fifth Avenue at 29th Street puts you in the heart of NoMad, walking distance from Koreatown, Eataly, the Flatiron, Herald Square. The N, R, or 6 train drops guests at your doorstep. Out-of-town visitors staying in Midtown can cab it in ten minutes. And when the night ends, everyone walks out into one of Manhattan’s most accessible neighborhoods. Asking 150 people to show up somewhere on a Saturday night is a big ask—location can make or break their enthusiasm.

Two Distinct Spaces That Actually Work Together

The Loft and Terrace complement each other rather than just coexisting in the same building. Ceremony on the rooftop with its retractable roof (yes, year-round use), cocktail hour in the interior lounge with the brick fireplace, reception in the Loft with room to really move. The flow makes sense. Venues where the layout fights the energy of the night create problems no DJ or planner can solve. That doesn’t happen here.

The Aesthetics Are Already There

This isn’t a blank-canvas warehouse requiring $30K in decor just to shed its industrial edge. The Loft carries a downtown Soho lounge vibe—white leather couches, illuminated bars, natural wood floors. The Terrace offers landscaped gardens, copper-framed windows, a mahogany bar. You’re not starting from zero. Bring in florals, maybe some up-lighting, and you’re done.

The Views Are the Real Deal

Manhattan “skyline views” often turn out to be a partial glimpse of a water tower. The Terrace delivers 360-degree panorama—Empire State Building, Marble Collegiate Church, the whole sweep of Midtown. Those views don’t cost extra. They’re simply part of the package. Your photographer will build half your album up there.

They Actually Provide Useful Stuff

The venue includes more than you’d expect: furniture, sound system, wireless microphone, WiFi, coat check, a VIP/bridal room, even a red carpet for arrivals. Small details add up. Skip the furniture rental, forget about coat check logistics—one less vendor call, one less delivery to coordinate.

The Spaces (And What They're Actually Like)

These rooms aren’t interchangeable. Each has its own personality and purpose.

The Loft (11th Floor)

Your main reception space. 5,000 square feet, 12-foot ceilings (11 with beams), those gorgeous oak floors that photograph beautifully and feel great under dancing feet.
Capacity: 160 seated with dance floor and stage. Up to 300 for cocktail-style. The room adapts to almost any configuration—long communal tables, traditional rounds, everything opened up for cocktail parties.
From a performer’s perspective: The ceiling height makes a real difference. Sound moves well without getting swallowed or turning boomy. A natural separation exists between band setup and dining areas, which helps with volume control during dinner versus when you’re pulling people onto the floor. The included sound system handles background music and announcements, but DJs and bands bring their own equipment—house rules here, though that’s standard for venues at this level.
The little details that matter: Three marble restrooms (one ADA accessible), a plating kitchen for caterers, freight elevator for load-in, coat check with actual hangers. The bridal room is a real room, not a closet with a mirror.

The Terrace (Rooftop)

Ceremony magic happens here. 4,400 square feet of rooftop with a retractable enclosure—rain or shine, January cold or August humidity, you’re covered. Literally.
Capacity: 100 seated for dinner, up to 160 for ceremony setup. The space also works beautifully for cocktail hour, comfortably holding around 150 standing.
What makes it special: Those 360-degree skyline views. The landscaped garden transforming your ceremony into a secret rooftop oasis. That 400-square-foot interior lounge with the brick fireplace, mahogany floors, antique light fixtures—like a private club within the venue.
From a performer’s perspective: Outdoor ceremony music on the Terrace requires careful planning around sound. The included microphone and speaker work for officiant and vows, but live ceremony musicians need thoughtful setup. Wind affects certain instruments, and Manhattan ambient noise competes for attention. String trios absolutely thrive up there, though. The space’s intimacy means massive amplification isn’t necessary.
Year-round use: Nine ductless AC/heating units keep this from being a weather-dependent space. January ceremony on the Terrace? Totally doable. That’s a genuine advantage over most Manhattan rooftops.

What It Costs (The Real Talk)

Midtown Loft & Terrace doesn’t publish rental rates online, and current pricing isn’t available to me. This is typical for Manhattan event venues—rates shift based on season, day of week, and specific needs.
What I can tell you:
A venue of this quality, in this location, with these views, commands premium Manhattan pricing. This isn’t a budget venue, and it shouldn’t try to be. You’re getting a Fifth Avenue address, two distinct spaces, included furniture and amenities, and flexibility most city venues can’t match.
What affects your costs here:
    • Which spaces you’re renting: Loft only? Terrace only? Both? Combination pricing usually offers better value for ceremony and reception together.
    • Day of week: Saturday evening is peak pricing everywhere. Friday or Sunday can save you real money.
    • Time of year: Peak wedding season (May-October) commands higher rates.
    • Guest count: This affects catering minimums more than space rental, but it all plays together.
What to ask when you call:
  1. What’s the venue rental fee for my date and configuration?
  2. Are there minimum spend requirements?
  3. What’s the deposit structure and payment timeline?
  4. What are the time restrictions—when does the event need to end?
  5. Do you have a preferred caterer list or is it open?
  6. What’s the alcohol policy—can I bring my own, or is there a beverage package requirement?

Why DLE Entertainment for Your Midtown Loft & Terrace Wedding

Ten years and eleven consecutive Knot Best of Weddings Hall of Fame awards—DLE Event Group has earned its reputation. And that reputation matters most when it translates to venue-specific expertise.

This space is familiar territory. Both rooms, the ceremony-to-reception transition, the acoustic quirks, the exact positioning for optimal sound and sightlines—it’s all mapped out. Venue knowledge only comes from actually playing a room, and watching a band struggle with unfamiliar logistics during someone’s wedding reception is painful for everyone.

The hybrid approach works perfectly here. Our signature hybrid DJ band—live musicians and singers layered with professional DJ—suits Midtown Loft & Terrace beautifully. Terrace ceremonies call for intimate live acoustic music. Cocktail hour needs sophisticated background vibes. The Loft reception demands full band energy with a DJ who can read the room and adapt in real time. One team, one setup, seamless transitions.

The equipment situation here: Since the house system is off-limits to DJs and bands (their policy, not mine), you need a crew that brings top-tier equipment, tests everything before guests arrive, and has backups ready. We show up with duplicate equipment for exactly these situations. Technical failures with no backup plan kill weddings faster than anything else.

What works beautifully here: Our full hybrid setup—DJ leading with 4-6 live musicians layering in. The Loft’s acoustics handle it well. When the dance floor opens after dinner, you can fill the room with energy without overwhelming the space. Floor packed at 11pm, guests singing along to performers—that’s the goal, and this room delivers it.

FAQs

The Loft fits 160 seated with dance floor and stage, or up to 300 for cocktail-style. The Terrace holds 100 seated or about 150 standing. Combined, you can do a ceremony for 160 on the Terrace and reception for 160 in the Loft—exactly how most weddings here configure.
Absolutely, and I’d recommend it. Ceremony on the Terrace with the skyline behind you, cocktail hour in the Terrace lounge or outdoors, reception in the Loft. The flow is natural and guests don’t have to go anywhere. This is one of the venue’s biggest selling points.
The Terrace has a retractable roof and full climate control, so rain isn’t a problem. Gorgeous winter weddings happen up there regularly. The space works year-round, which is unusual for a Manhattan rooftop.
Yes, outside entertainment is permitted. Heads up: DJs and bands cannot hook into the house sound system—you need to bring your own equipment. That’s venue policy. For any professional entertainment company, this isn’t an issue.
Yes. Passenger and freight elevators provide access, and the Loft has an ADA accessible restroom.
Freight elevator access on East 29th Street, between Madison and Fifth Avenue. Delivery windows are 9am-12pm and 2pm-5pm for equipment and rentals. Your entertainment company needs to work within those windows—they’re strict about it.
Partially. Couches, coffee tables, buffet tables, and bars are included. Standard event tables and chairs need to be rented. They offer an in-house option for white padded chairs at $5/chair plus setup fee, along with various furniture rentals.
You’ll need to ask them directly about their catering policy. The venue has plating kitchens in both spaces with ovens, sinks, and refrigeration, so caterers have what they need to execute well. They mention providing recommendations, but whether they have an exclusive caterer list or operate open-vendor remains unclear.
